Meet David Méndez Alonso, the creative brain and forever kid behind one of our favourite independent fashion brand: the joyfully bonkers Outsiders Division.

A transgressor of reality and emotion, David works under the motto “the beauty of error.” His practice moves through dreamlike worlds where he designs, draws, sculpts, paints, installs and plays, unleashing a singular imagination across every medium.

You, in a nutshell?

I’m David Méndez Alonso, I do illustrations and I like clothes, arts and colours. I do art direction for brands and work in the fashion and creative industry. I’m very hairy and love mandarins.
Where is home?

Barcelona.

What did you want to be when you grow up?

A mouse.
