This week, we wrap our Carte Blanche x Drouot with one final wave of auction gems. The hunt was particularly fruitful this month, with a focus on smaller objects and accessories. Think a fish umbrella, a Memphis wristwatch, some Venini Murano goodness, and a funky collection of Jean-Charles de Castelbajac garments straight from the 80s.

Next, we switch things up for our traditional pop quiz. After a year of collaboration and many curated auction edits, we couldn't help but notice that Ettore Sottsass was everywhere we looked. Glassware, furniture, ceramics, jewellery, electronics. you name it, the man touched it all. That led to a few conversations with George about how the hell one person could produce thousands of objects in a single lifetime.
So I started digging into his life, quirks, and the stories behind some of my favourite objects. Not as a historian (plenty can be found online about him) but as a curious creative looking for clues behind such a prolific career. I didn't solve the mystery but I did uncover a few fun facts and little anecdotes along the way.
