Lex Pott

Lex Pott is an all-around Dutch designer approaching objects, furniture, textiles and everything in between with a raw and intuitive method. In his work, he returns to the origin of the materials he uses most: wood, stone and metal. He does not hide his designs under indirect layers, but reduces them to their very essence.

An all-rounder with an impeccable eye for colour.

  • You, in a nutshell?

A designer who loves to experiment and explore materials.

  • Where is home?

Rotterdam: an old 1930's house in that brings a lot of charm and with a fireplace! My studio is also my second home. 5 min walk so I basically have two places where I feel at home.

    Fisherman or artist.

  • What did you become?

    Designer and maker.

  • The best gift you ever gave?

A crown Jewels coin ring I made for my girlfriend 10 years ago.

  • The best gift you ever got?

    This wooden branch figurine.

  • If you were an object?

    Uten.Silo by Vitra. Organized mess.

  • The ugliest item you own and dearly love?

An art piece that my parents made together.

  • A side hustle?

    Lectures and workshops.

  • An obsession?

Asian DIY stores that basically have everything. A designer's dream.
