Sunroom

Sunroom is the work of Clare Byrne and Jake Stolz, a Chicago-based duo who decided printmaking and the postal service belonged together. What began in 2018 as an online creative archive grew into the Monthly Flyer Club in 2021. Each design is Risograph printed, a layered, slightly unpredictable analogue process, then folded into a small yellow envelope and posted out to subscribers across the country. Clare brings a background in illustration and graphic design, Jake an eye for film photography and video art, and together they take their cues from nature's patterns and the weather outside their window. Beyond the club, the pair run a wider shop of matchboxes, magnets, totes, prints and zines, all made with the same risograph and the same instinct for a handmade object over a digital one.
