Gio Ponti named these bottles after Giorgio Morandi, the Bologna painter who spent a lifetime arranging the same dusty vessels on a table and finding in them something new every time. Ponti saw the same quality and translated it into Murano glass: striped canes in blown colour, simple forms, nothing superfluous.
